Yes, I have a few styles, just the way musicians have crossed over into other musical genres. My art styles include nature paintings and abstracts. I create whimsical nature works of art, both loose and detailed landscapes, abstract and whimsical still lifes, realistic and painterly portraits, and designs. Yes, that is a lot of different styles. I enjoy all of them too. When you go to my portfolio you will see several. As you explore my archives by years you can see several series and styles emerging. I believe it is important for an artist to grow, and for the work to evolve.
Here is this week’s nature piece, “Wren Song Two” 10x 10 on canvas
It is a joy bringer!
Pair of Blue Abstract Works
Creating in pairs is great for decorating. They can work directly together, on either side of the bed in bedrooms, on the walls on each side of a fireplace, in a variety of areas. The pieces can be installed side by side, or one higher than the other, or vertical one above the other. The stunning example below has been created using a few apps. The blues are rich, royal, and a bit moody. The original art is not actually this large, however, I enlarged them for effect in this vignette.
Although I am selective about commission works I can create a wonderful set of works of art that will work in your colors and theme for your space. Contact me if interested.
Pear Series
My husband was so darling. He came back hunter and gatherer from the grocery store declaring look what I got you! Just like the tree we used to have! He was so excited. I smiled as I know he didn’t know because he doesn’t eat pears nor peaches which is what the tree I dearly enjoyed had been. I did rejoice however because in my mind my husband came back from the store with a perfect model with a stem and all! So yes the pear went directly to my studio. And I began creating works of art. Almost obsessively.
This was the first
Then I kept going… for a few days while the pear still maintained its health.
And lastly a modern striking piece. Aren’t these fun? Do you have a fav?
Dancing on Balconies
I am a romantic at heart. Caught up in travel images from a lifetime of reading books, magazines and of course now pinterest and Instagram. The times I have been in Italy and Spain I often looked up to the balconies making stories. Most recently the flood of images from Italy brought this symbolic abstract to canvas as I explored the voices, the people, the dancers, the lovers, the families all reaching out from their balconies. I hope you enjoy this painting. Dancing On Balconies
Retuned to Studio after Travels
I am often quite anxious to get back into my studio to paint after traveling. I miss creating in my studio. I started several pieces prior to driving to Colorado. One is this piece which I finished today. Day Moon Dragonfly. Upon this post the piece is listed under Nature here on my website.
